James 1: 5-8 “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting (wavering)....
For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the
Lord.”
a. Romans 4:20-21 “He (Abraham) did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief”.
b. Matthew 8:23-27 “And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea.....
His disciples came to Him ....saying, ‘Lord save us! We are perishing’! But He said to them, ‘Why are you fearful (wavering), O you of little faith”?
The disciples blamed the storm for their wavering, but He said it was their unbelief.
c. Matthew 14:22-31 “When he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and ...he cried out (screamed in panic), ‘Lord save me”! And...Jesus said to him, ‘O you of little faith, why did you doubt’?”
Peter blamed the boisterous wind for his wavering, but He said it was Peter’s unbelief .
d. Luke 24:13-25 “What kind of conversation is this...as you walk and are sad” (v.17). “But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel” (v. 21). “Then He said to them, ‘O foolish ones and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken”! (V. 25).
