A. The beginning. (Philippians 1:1-6)
"He who has begun a good work in you" (1:6).
Acts 16.
1. Lydia and her household. (Acts 16:11-15).
"The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul"(16:14).
John 7:17 "If anyone wants to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine".
2. The Philippian jailer and his household. (Acts 16:23-34).
"But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God and the prisoners were listening to them" (16:25; Psalm 40:3).
"Sirs, what must I do to be saved"? (16:30).
"He rejoiced, having believed in God with all his house" (16:34).
B. The present time. (Philippians 2:12-13)
"He who has begun a good work in you will complete it" (1:6).
"Work out (not, "work for) your own salvation with fear and trembling (2:12; Romans 11:20 "Be not high minded (haughty), but fear").
"For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure" (2:13).
"Do all things without murmuring and disputing" (2:14).
"That I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me" (3:12).
"Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead" (3:13).
C. The finish. (Philippians 3:20-21).
"We also eagerly wait for the Savior...who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body".
