“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things...just as your soul prospers” (1:2).
Evidence that Gaius’ soul was prosperous:
1. “Brethren came and testified of the truth in you” (1:3).
Psalm 51:6 “You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom”.
John 8:31-32 “If you abide in My word, you are my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”.
2. “Just as you walk in the truth”
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth” (1:4)
Galatians 2:11-14 “When I saw that they did not walk according to the
truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all”
3. “Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for
strangers, who have borne witness of your love before the church”.(1:5-6 ).
“Demetrious has a good testimony from all, and from the truth itself”(1:12)
