"How you ought to walk and to please God" (4:1).
1. "For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality" (4:3).
"each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor" (4:4).
"no one should 'overstep the line' and take advantage of his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such" (4:6).
"Therefore, he who rejects this does not reject man, but God"! (4:8).
God is greatly displeased by sexual immorality!
2. "You yourselves are taught by God to love one another; and indeed you do so....But we urge you, brethren, that you increase more and more" (4:9-10).
God is pleased with those who have love (agape) for one another instead of lust. Agape love seeks what is best for the one loved.
Lust seeks to take advantage of the one lusted after.
3. "That you may walk properly toward those who are outside" (4:12).
"Strive to lead a quiet life" (4:11) . (Instead of being discontented, irritated, always upset about something).
"Mind your own business" (Instead of being a busybody, 1 Peter 4:15).
"work with your own hands" (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12)
God is pleased with Christians who are not a stumbling block to those who are not saved.
