“Peace On Earth?”

Luke 2:1-20 “..Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace..”

Matthew 10:34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth. I

did not come to bring peace but a sword.”

Matthew 24:7 “For nation shall rise against nation..”

In what sense did the coming of Christ bring peace to the earth?

1. In the present age.

Luke 1:76-79 “...to guide our feet to the way of peace.”

a. Peace with God.

Romans 5:1 “..having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Romans 5:8-11 “..when we were enemies we were reconciled to God

through the death of His Son..”

b. Peace of God.

John 16:33 “..that in Me you may have peace.”

Philippians 4:6-7 “And the peace of God will guard your hearts and

minds through Christ Jesus.”

2. In the future.

Isaiah 2:1-4 “..neither shall they learn war anymore.”

Isaiah 9:6-7 “Of the increase of His government and peace there will

be no end.”
