“Our Secret Weapon”

Ephesians 6:10-20

1. The nature of our conflict:

6:12 “..against principalities, ..powers, ..rulers of the darkness, ..

spiritual host of wickedness in the heavens.”

2. Our armor:

6:14 -17

Our belt: “truth”

Our breastplate: “righteousness”

Our footwear: “preparation of the gospel of peace”

Our shield: “faith”

Our helmet: “salvation”

Our sword: “the word of God”

3. Our secret weapon:

6:18-20 “praying always..”

a. “..for all the saints”

Paul’s example:

1:15-21 “..I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention

of you in my prayers”

3:14-19 “..I bow my knees to the Father...that He would grant

you...to be strengthened with might...”

Is this the reason the churches that were founded under Paul’s

leadership were successful in spite of the opposition?

b. “..and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I might open

my mouth boldly..” (He was in prison in Rome)

Is this the reason he was able to “turn the world upside down” in

spite of the opposition? (Philippians 1:12-13; 4:22)

2 Kings 6:16 “..Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than

those who are with them.”
