2:1 “a harlot named Rahab”.
Not only was she a Canaanite, she was also a harlot! But because of her faith (2:9-11 “the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath”) she demonstrated God’s grace:
a. She and her family were not destroyed.
6:22-23 “And the young men who had been spies went in and brought out Rahab....and all that she had”
Hebrews 11:31 “By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe” (She is included as one of the examples of those who exercised great faith!).
b. She was accepted as one of the people of God.
Joshua 6:25 “And Joshua spared Rahab....So she dwells in Israel to this day”
c. She was chosen to be included in the genealogy of the Savior!
Matthew 1:1,5 “Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab” (Was Salmon one of the spies whose lives she saved?)
