“It Takes All Kinds”
1 Corinthians 12:12-27 “Now you are the body of Christ and members
individually. (With different functions).
We each have different backgrounds, personalities and physical traits.
When we put our faith in Christ, the Holy Spirit takes all these things into consideration and deals with us accordingly.
1.Those who need to be humbled.
a. Isaiah
1:1 “..the son of Amoz...” (According to tradition he was a cousin
of King Uzziah)
6:1-5 “..I saw the Lord ...high and lifted up....Then I said, ‘Woe is
me, for I am undone...I am a man of unclean lips..”
b. Paul
Acts 9:1-6 “..a light shone around him from heaven....he trembling...
said, ‘Lord, what do you want me to do?”
2. Those who need encouragement.
a. Jeremiah
1:1 “...Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests..”
1:4-8 “..Then I said, ‘Ah, Lord God I cannot speak..”
1:17-19 “..do not be dismayed...for I am with you”
15:10 “Woe is me, my mother, that you have borne me..”
20:7,14 “O Lord, you induced me, and I was persuaded...Cursed be the day in which I was born!”
b. Timothy
1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no one despise your youth..”
5:23 “Use a little wine for your...frequent infirmities.”
3. The bold who are not intimidated.
a. Amos
1:1-2 “The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Tekoa...and he said, ‘The Lord roars from Zion..”
3:12; 4:1 “Hear this word, you cows of Bashan..”
b. John the Baptist.
Matthew 3:4-7 “..John..was clothed in Camel’s hair...his food was locust and wild honey...he said to them, ‘Brood of vipers! Who has warned you to flee from the wrath to come?”
