“The Great Shepherd”

Hebrews 13:20-21

“the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that

great Shepherd of the sheep”

Christ is the “Good Shepherd” because He gave His life for the sheep.

He is the “Great Shepherd” because of His resurrection.

All others who have claimed to be shepherds are now “dead shepherds”.

Because He is the “Great Shepherd”:

1. Hebrews 7:25 “He is.. able to save to the uttermost those who come

to God by Him, since He ever lives to make intercession for them.”

1 John 2:1 “And if anyone sins we have an Advocate with the Father,

Jesus Christ the righteous.”

Romans 8:33-34 “It is Christ who died, and furthermore is risen,

who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession

for us.” (Luke 22:31-32)

2. Hebrews 4:14-16 "Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who

has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, .... Let us

therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain

mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
