God Is Good!

Psalm 107:1-32 “Oh, give thanks to the Lord for He is GOOD! (Tobe)

For His MERCY (Chesed) endures forever.”

1. Those who have “wandered”. (107:4 - 9)

“They wandered in...a desolate way....their soul fainted in them”

“They cried out to the Lord in their trouble and He delivered them..”

“He led them forth by the right way”

Matthew 9:36 “..He was moved with compassion for them because

they were weary and scattered like sheep..”

2. Those who are bound because of rebellion against God’s word.(10-16)

“..they rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of

the Most High.”

“Therefore He brought down their heart with labor; they fell down and

there was none to help.”

“Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble”

“He brought them out and broke their chains..”

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me all you who labor...I will give you rest”

“Take My yoke upon you..”

3. Fools, whose bodies are afflicted and near death because of their

sinful lifestyle. (17-22)

“Their soul abhorred all manner of food, they drew near to the gates of death.”

“Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble..”

“He sent His word and healed them..”

1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our

sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

4. Those who “do business on great waters.”

“He commands and raises the stormy wind...their soul melts because

of trouble...they are at their wits’ end.”

“Then they cry out to the Lord in their trouble..”

“He brings them out of their distresses...He guides them to their desired haven.”

“Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness!”
