“To redeem those who were under the law” (4:5).

The Old Testament records the preparations for the fulfillment of the the promise of a redeemer which God gave after Adam & Eve became sinners. (Genesis 3:15; Luke 24:44 - 46).

When Israel, as a nation, hardened their hearts and rejected Jesus as their Redeemer, He announced that He would build His church. He commissioned His disciples to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel”. When the church is complete it will be “caught up to meet the Lord in the air”, and the blindness will be removed from Israel by the sealing of 144,000 from the tribes of Israel (Revelation 7:1-4). They will evangelize the world during the tribulation period.

C. “The fullness of the times”. (Ephesians 1:7-10).

“That... He might gather in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth”.

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and those on the earth...and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord”. (Philippians 2:5-11).
