“End-time Attitudes”

James 5:1-9

A. The world.

1. Selfish Greed. (5:1- 4)

5:3 “You have heaped up treasure in the last days”.

5:2 “Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth eaten (from lack of use)”.

5:4 “the wages of the laborers ...you have kept back by fraud”

(Their riches are accumulated at the expense of others)

2. Selfish indulgence.

5:5 “You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have

fattened your hearts as in a day of slaughter”.(Luxurious homes, clothing, hotels, restaurants, etc.)

3. Selfish Cruelty.

5:6 “You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not

resist you”. (They eliminate anyone who stands in their way.

(abortion, child abuse, drug users and dealers, etc.)

B. The proper attitude for believers. (5:7-9)

5:7 “Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord.”

5:8 “Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand”.

5:9 “do not grumble against one another” (Don’t take our frustrations

out on one another)

Hebrews 10:23-25
