“Encouraging One Another”
Hebrews 3:13 “But exhort (encourage) one another daily..”
The benefits of encouragement:
A. It helps to prevent hardness of heart.
Hebrews 3:13 “..lest any of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin”
B. It helps to “stir up love and good works”.
Hebrews 10:23-25 “let us consider one another to stir up love and
good works....exhorting (encouraging) one another, and so much
the more as you see the Day approaching.”
C. It helps to restore Christians who have sinned and repented.
2 Corinthians 2:6 “..you ought to forgive and comfort (encourage)
him lest ..such a one be swallowed up with too much sorrow.”
Matthew 26:69-75 “..he (Peter) went out and wept bitterly.”
Mark 16:7 “But go and tell His disciples-and Peter-that He is
going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him..”
D. It helps Christians to “have a walk worthy of God”.
1 Thessalonians 2:11-12 “..we exhorted (encouraged) , and comforted , and charged everyone of you as a father does his
own children, that you wold have a walk worthy of God..”
The Thessalonian Christians were babes in Christ and everything
about the Christian life was new to them. New Christians and all
Christians who are facing new situations especially need
encouragement.
