“Decisions That Affect Destiny”
1. The decision to serve the Lord or to serve the devil. (Joshua 24:1-15)
24:15 “choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve”
There is no neutral ground. Those who do not choose to serve God have
chosen to serve the devil and will spend eternity with him!
2. The decision to choose the will of God or to choose our own will.
a. Abraham (Genesis 12:1-5; Hebrews 11:8-9)
12:1 “Get out of your country....to a land that I will show you”
12:4 “So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him”
Hebrews 11:8 “By faith Abraham obeyed....and he went out, not
knowing where he was going”.
Because Abraham chose the will of God, not only was he blessed
but all the families of the earth” have been blessed!
b. Lot (Genesis 13:8-13; 2 Peter 2:6-8)
13:11-12 “Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan.....and
pitched his tent even as far as Sodom”.
13:13 “But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful
against the Lord”.
2 Peter 2:6-8 “and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed with
the filthy conduct of the wicked......tormented his righteous soul....
seeing and hearing their lawless deeds”
Because Lot “chose for himself”, he lived a miserable life and lost
everything of value to him.
