There are some temptations that Christians are commanded to run from:
1. "Flee form idolatry" (1 Corinthians 10:14).
"I do not want you to have fellowship with demons" (10:20).
Christians are to run from anything associated with demonic power! (Astrologers, psychics, magical powers, etc.)
2. "Flee sexual immorality" (1 Corinthians 6:18).
Every form of immorality was rampant in Corinthian society as it is also in our society today (6:9-11).
Christians are to run from any situation in which we are tempted to indulge in sexual activity outside of marriage.
The example of Joseph, "How can I do this great wickedness and sin against God...and he fled and ran outside" (Genesis 39:7-12).
3. "Flee these things" (1 Timothy 6:3-11).
Those "who suppose that godliness is a means of gain" (6:5).
"Those who desire to be rich" (6:9).
"Those who love money and are greedy" (6:10).
4. "Flee also youthful lusts (epithumia), but pursue righteousness with those who call on the Lord with a pure heart" (2 Timothy 2:22)
