Truett & Shirley West
About The Pastor
Truett West, who has pastored three churches and served as assistant pastor of another in Union Parish, Louisiana, began his service as pastor of Hickory Grove on March 7, 2010, following a four-month stint as interim pastor. A retired Louisiana lawyer, Pastor West has degrees from University of Louisiana at Monroe, Louisiana Tech University and South Texas College of Law. He said, "Shirley and I have never felt more completely in God's will than we do at Hickory Grove Chapel."
His wife Shirley, has sung Southern Gospel music for most of her lifetime in duets, trios and quartets, always with her sister, Maxine. Now that her sister has moved to North Little Rock, Shirley enjoys a solo ministry. She and her sister still manage to get together for an occasional appearance.
